From Label to Informed Choice: Youth for Safer Chemicals and Ecosystem Protection (SMARTCHEM Choice)
Project Goal: The general objective of the project is to encourage young people and citizens of Serbia to choose safer chemical products based on informed decisions, thereby contributing to the reduction of negative impacts on the ecosystem, greenhouse gas emissions, and climate change mitigation.
ALHem’s activities will focus on raising awareness, educating, and fostering behavioral changes among youth—specifically high school students—regarding the understanding of eco-labels and hazard pictograms on chemical products. This will enable them to make informed decisions when selecting household chemicals and to share their acquired knowledge within their communities. Through a social media campaign, we will inform and encourage behavioral changes among citizens, resulting in a more responsible choice of products and more sustainable consumption in Serbia.
Implementation Period: June 2026 – November 2026
Donors: The project Youth for Safer Chemicals and Ecosystem Protection (SMARTCHEM Choice) is part of the ECO-SISTEM program for supporting civil society in environmental protection, implemented by Young Researchers of Serbia (Mladi istraživači Srbije) with the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency – Sida.
These activities are part of the EKO-SISTEM program, implemented by Mladi istraživači Srbije, and supported by Sweden.
