Capacity Building and Strategic Partnerships for Chemicals Safety in the Republic of Serbia
In August, ALHem started the implementation of the project “Strengthening capacity and strategic partnership for the safe management of chemicals in the Republic of Serbia”.
Achievements: Strengthened capacities of all relevant stakeholders; Raised awareness of the general public on the issue of preventive actions, consumer rights and implementation of legislation; Performed analysis and reported results of compliance of products that can contain phthalates in relation to the Law on Chemicals.
The project has been implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection in collaboration with the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and in partnership with the Civil Society Organisation (CSO) from Serbia “ALHem –Safer Chemicals Alternative” and with international organisation “WECF” – Women in Europe for a Common Future.
Donor: The funds for the project implementation were provided from the Quick Start Programme (QSP), established within the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM).
